Nepal Outreach and Sponsorship Program

Education and care support creating long term opportunity, safety, and stability for children and young people in Nepal through trusted local partnerships

Supporting education and safety for children in Nepal

Education and safety can shape a child’s future. Support helps children learn in safer environments and provides care for girls who need protection and stability.

Building safety, learning, and opportunity

Many children in Nepal continue to grow up with limited access to safe education and reliable care. Poverty, remote living conditions, and the lasting impact of earthquakes have created ongoing challenges for schools and families.

The Nepal outreach and sponsorship program focuses on improving education and safety through locally led partnerships. Support helps provide learning materials and improve school environments attended by boys and girls, while also providing dedicated care for girls at risk.

At the heart of this work is Our Home, a girls’ shelter in Dhulikel that provides safe accommodation, education support, and daily care for girls from highly disadvantaged backgrounds. Through donations, sponsorship, and community fundraising, this program creates stability, opportunity, and hope during critical years of childhood.

How education, shelter, and care are delivered on the ground in Nepal

Support is shaped by real needs on the ground, delivered through long standing local partnerships that prioritise safety, education, and consistent care for children.

Improving school learning spaces

Education support focuses on state schools attended by both boys and girls in communities affected by poverty and past earthquake damage. Many school buildings still face structural challenges, and access to basic learning materials remains limited.

Donations help provide essential stationery, books, and resources, while also supporting improvements to school environments where safety and infrastructure remain ongoing concerns. This support helps create safer spaces where children can attend school regularly and focus on learning.

Our Home: A shelter for girls in Dhulikel

Providing protection, stability, and opportunity

Our Home is a girls’ shelter located in Dhulikel, around 45 minutes from Kathmandu. It provides safe accommodation for 22 girls from remote and highly disadvantaged backgrounds, including girls who are orphans, living with disability, or at risk of exploitation.

The shelter offers daily care, food, clothing, education support, and additional learning before school. Girls also take part in activities that build confidence and life skills, including self-defence, music, dance, and practical learning. The building itself is designed to be earthquake-resistant and provides a safe, welcoming environment where the girls can grow and feel secure.

Why ongoing donations and sponsorships matter

Your support creates opportunity

The day to day operation of education support and the girls shelter relies on consistent funding. Costs include staffing, food, medical care, education materials, utilities, and ongoing maintenance. When fundraising slows or support drops, essential programs and staff roles are put at risk.

Regular donations and sponsorship provide stability. They help ensure girls remain safely housed, children can continue attending school, and education and care programs can operate without interruption. Even small, regular contributions play a vital role in sustaining this work over the long term.
